Lasagna with No Boil Noodles

Italian food is my favorite cuisines. It has been for as long as I can remember. I am not a fan of store bought sauce so really my only choice was to go to a local favorite restaurant. The Instant Pot changed all that. I can easily make my own sauce and I can then use that sauce to make other delicious Italian meals. This lasagna is fast, easy and best of all DELICIOUS!

  • 3 Cups of Sauce (I use homemade)
  • 1 cup Ricotta Cheese (for cheese filling)
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese (for cheese filling)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese (I use Bel Gioiosa Shaved Blended Cheese) (for cheese filling)
  • 1 Egg (for cheese filling)
  • 1 TBSP Garlic Powder (for cheese filling)
  • 1 TBSP Onion Powder (for cheese filling)
  • 1 TBSP Italian Seasoning (for cheese filling)
  • 1 TBSP Oregano (for cheese filling)
  • 2 TBSP Parsley (I use dried) (for cheese filling)
  • 1/2 TBSP Pepper (or to taste) (for cheese filling)
  • 1/2 cup Mozzarella (as topping when it is finished cooking)
  • 1/2 cup of Parmesan (as topping when it is finished cooking)
Method
I make this recipe in either a 7 X 3 inch springform pan or a Fat Daddio 8 x 3 push up pan but the latter will only work in an 8 qt or larger Instant Pot.
Make the Cheese Mixture Mix:
  1. 1 cup of Ricotta Cheese
  2. 1 cup of Mozzarella
  3. 1/2 cup Parmesan
  4. 1 Egg
  5. 1 TBSP Garlic Powder
  6. 1 TBSP Onion Powder
  7. 1 TBSP Italian Seasoning
  8. 1 TBSP Oregano
  9. 2 TBSP Parsley (I use dried)
  10. 1/2 TBSP Pepper (or to taste)
Build Lasagna
  1. Spoon sauce into bottom of springform pan.
  2. Place a layer of no boil noodles.
  3. Cover the noodles with sauce.
  4. Add 1/3 of the cheese mixture.
  5. Cover cheese with sauce.
  6. Place a layer of noodles.
  7. Continue building layers until pan is full.
Cook in Instant Pot
  1. Place 1 1/2 cups of water in the inner pot.
  2. Place Trivet in the Instant Pot
  3. Carefully cover lasagna with aluminum foil.
  4. Place springform pan on the trivet in the Instant Pot.
  5. Cook on high pressure (Each Instant Pot model is different)  for 24 minutes.
  6. Let it NR for 20 minutes.
  7. Do a QR to release the rest of the pressure.
  8. Carefully remove Lasagna from the IP.
  9. Carefully remove foil.
Finish in the Oven (I use the Instant Vortex Plus)
  1. Spread top of lasagna with Mozzarella and Parmesan Cheese.
  2. Place in Instant Vortex on broil (400 degrees) for 4 minutes.
If you like your lasagna with meat you can brown up the meat of your choice and incorporate it as one of the layer ingredients.   I personally prefer to add the meat to the sauce and I usually use mild Italian sausage.

  1. Instant Pot Pasta Sauce – Ima Pothead

[…] Before I owned an Instant Pot I made sauce exactly one time. It was bland and not at all exciting. So for the next however many years I ate bottled sauce from the supermarket. I don’t really care for bottled sauce though as it’s too salty and just not pleasing to my palate. Once I got the IP I came across some recipes for sauce and tried them but they didn’t quite cut it either. I don’t care for it with red wine as an ingredient and many of them had red wine. The others were bland or too salty so I set about creating my own sauce recipe. I make this recipe once a week or once every other week and use it in all of my other recipes that call for sauce like the Lasagna. […]
